Decent Game That's Worth a Look

Rage is a post-apocalyptic shooter from ID and Bethesda, the same people that made the classic Doom and recent Fallout games. It's obvious that this game contains elements of both but it's story and gameplay seperate it from being dismissed as a doom/fallout knockoff.

The overall plot is pretty simple, the planet is destroyed by an asteroid and the only thing that survives are mutants, bandit clans, and a broken civilization. Neither the story or the characters will deeply immerse you but Rage is still an overall good time.

The graphics and enviroments are awesome as well as the sound. For the most part, the controls are solid except sometimes it gets a little sluggish and on occassion the game would freeze on me. There are a lot of driving segments which is unfortunate because the controls for that aspect could've benefited from some tweaking. Despite these few technical flaws, Rage is definitely worth a look especially if you're a fan of doom, fallout, or the mad max series.

  Though lacking originality, Rage still offers enough for a satisfying post-apocalyptic shooter experience.
