Never played Rallisport I, but took a chance on the game based on Gamespot's review as well as the reader's. I have not been disappointed. All weekend long, the only thing I could do was play this game. Sure it would be nice if there was a garage where you could look at your cars like in GT3 or perhaps a way to earn money rather than points for each victory, but this is nitpicking to the tenth power. The graphics and gameplay alone, saying nothing about the huge amount of content afforded in the game, make buying this game money well spent. Also, kudos to the game developers for paying such great attention to the detail in this game. The cars get dirtier as the races progress (something that I did not overlook); when taking tight turns, you can actually see the driver frantically trying to keep the car on the road through the driver's side window (something conspiciously left out of the entire GT series); the weather and driving conditions are incredibly real as is the impact it has on your driving (finally a game where a night race actually has a significant effect on your visibility); and the variety of damage you can do to the cars is incredible. One thing though, when you steer off of a cliff ... which I have managed to do on occasion, it would have been cool to see the car just fall to pieces and rendered completely undrivable ... It is a little ridiculous that the car just pops back on to the track after a few second penalty ... Also, for those of us less mechanically inclined. It would be awesome if you could defer to your mechanic to tweak the car according to your needs ... As a default, your mechanic could just tweak the car based on the problems you say you are having when you drive ... Kind of like Harry in Days of Thunder. Bottom line though, if anyone is itching for a racing game until Nascar 2005 comes out, this is the game to buy ... Ya hearin' me Jo Jo?
