If you need a Rampage fix in the 2000s, go for it, but find it used.

I was so excited when I heard that Rampage was coming out, I bought it the day it came out. It was fun and crude and nostalgic, but honestly little more than that. The reminiscent ideas are certainly there, and it does a good job of recreating the idea of the early days of Rampage, but lacks severely in depth. I suppose i shouldn't be asking for much more than smashing buildings and eating people, wasn't that what made us love the first game? But the game is actually tough, and so repetitive. It might be the first game I ever played where I didn't care that I hadn't unlocked all the characters. Huge plus to this game, however, is the included early versions of the game. I love that you can play the NES version of the game. If you need to play Rampage, then give this game a rent, it's all you will need.
