User Rating: 10 | Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked and Loaded PS2
Ratchet and Clank 2: "Going Commando" or "Locked and Loaded" is a very good game. It builds on the format of the original Ratchet and Clank but has some nice new features. One of the best and the only thing I think lacked in the first game was the fact that there was no staffing. I personally played this game before I played the first one, so I kinda took the ability of staffing for granted. I need played the first game and found the combat a little frustrating: you shoot, retreat, turn around and shoot again, which by the time you start to shoot again, your enemies are already on you again. Also the upgradeable guns are another big feature; one that continues on through the latter ratchet titles. Also the ability to scroll through previously used weapons by tapping the triangle button is a nice feature.
Its not just the weapons and controls that have been improved, but also the graphics are better than the last game, while not venturing far from the animated style from the first game. Also the old characters have been improved slightly, making them feel less robotic. The game's storyline also seems to follow the margins of the first, but with a little more depth.
All in all, a game that delivers the same fun playability, as its predecessor, but with a little extra grunt, which is sure to please old and new fans of the series.
