Don't get me wrong- i'm a big R&C fan- but this isn't exactly what i was expecting.

User Rating: 7.5 | Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PS2
Yes, i am an unabased R&C fan. so, when i heard that the one R&C game i hadn't played was coming to the PS2, i almost jumped for joy. I don't own a psp, so i felt bummed on having missed out on one of my favorite series.

And yet, i was pretty dissappointed.

First, its good points. It looks very pretty for what is obviously a psp port, and i once again loved the trademark humor and downright explosive fun that i have loved so far in any game of the series. the armor collecting is much better than the static sets of old. And the psychadelic dreamtime level deserves homage for being one of the most memorable levels in the series, just due to its sheer craziness and homage to the series, and the weapons are still a blast to use, (while they are the most underpowered i have yet to see in an R&C game to date). If you're a R&C fan, you probably won't want to miss this.

To everyone else, howerer, i don't think it's recommended.

The dreamtime level i mentioned earlier limits your already small view and distorts it, making some of the most confusing camera angles of all time. at least the game acknowledges it's oft confusing camera by auto-turning you to whatever you should be looking at. It was also INCREDIBLY short, about half as long as even the FIRST R&C game, which was pretty short to begin with. The giant clank and hoverboard games are NIGHTMARES. The first giant clank level had a seriously overpowered boss at the end. i had more trouble with that guy than the final boss. which brings me to another point. I breezed through this game on a single weekend. but that dosn't mean i didn't have fun while doing it.

In short, any R&C fan who dosn't have a psp or ps3 yet should get this to hold them over until they can afford a ps3 and the new R&C game. (damn my low-paying job...which is washing cars, by the way. $12 cheap!) To R&C newbies, don't get this game until you've beaten the others first, because this game has a tendancy to leave bost a sweet and sour taste in your mouth, and i don't want to scare anyone away from a great game. in my final words, i'll say this:

Where are you, Insomniac?!?!?
