Ratchet and Clank! On PSP!!!

User Rating: 10 | Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP
The famous duo Ratchet and Clank go portable! The other 4 R&C games were huge successes and when they first announced this one, I knew it would be a huge hit as well.

Ah, yes the graphics. The environments and the levels are all very nicely done. Very detailed and rich in color. The characters all are very well done and look almost as good (or better to some people) than their PS2 counterparts. The weapons are all cool looking and unique. The explosions and effects that the weapons make all look gorgeous.

Well, reviewers have been giving the music bad rep but it isn't really bad, just not memorable. I, myself didn't hear the music most of the game. Mainly just the sound of the guns and enemies and such, which is all pretty good. The guns sound like they should. For the most part though, its your everyday R&C bgm.

The most important part of any game, the gameplay! R&C: SM is, like all other R&C games, the gameplay is fast paced and filled with non stop action! You go through 8 planets if my memory serves me correctly. They are not so long but will keep you entertained for a fairly good amount of time. Now the game is a little more difficult than the PS2 games but not overly hard. All weapons upgrade to more powerful and cool looking versions.

The controls are for the most part, good. This game plays much like the PS2 versions which is basically this: You move with the analog nub and use Square to hit with your wrench, Triangle is used to to quick select weapons, Circle is used for shooting, and X is used for jumping. The only difference in this game is that the D-Pad is used for strafing and L and R are used to control the camera. Sometimes the camera may get a little annoying but most of the time its great.

The replay value in this game is amazing! First of all, you have all your weapons that you have to upgrade 4 levels plus the extra 4 levels in Challenge Mode, you have Skill Points, Challenge Mode, and a ton of other stuff like Clank Challenges (kind of like the Annihilation Nation Challenges) and online, which should last a great deal of time.

This is definitely a must buy if you are into platformers, shooters, and R&C games. And that ends my review for the awesomeness that is R&C: SM for PSP!
