Insomniac's Ultra-famous platformer series strikes the PS2 once again!

User Rating: 9 | Ratchet & Clank 3 (Platinum) PS2
The Goods: All that made Going Commando great is still found here. The story is way better than the first two games. Quark scenes are really hilarious!

The Bads: Little to no improvement can be seen from the series' last installment.

There is no way of denying it. The Ratchet & Clank series definitely proves to be the one to beat within the platforming genre. Even at its third installment, the series never fails to impress its fans, bring in new ones, and offer a healthy mix of platforming and mass destruction!

The story really does not connect from the past titles, however the story does makes a few notable references from our heroes' previous experiences. After saving a galaxy from being devoured by protopets, Ratchet & Clank faces a new evil that threatens their home galaxy. That evil is known as Dr. Nefarious. He's probably the most hilarious villain ever in R&C history. His main goal is to eliminate the so-called "squishies" (AKA everything that's biological) from existance. Interesting aint it?

R&C:UYA managed to keep the upgrades that were first added on Going Commando. The experience gaining, the upgradeable armoury and weaponry, the strafing, everything! Graphically, this game looks better than the previous titles. It is still hard to believe that the blasting and the cutscenes still looks impressive, both artistically, and technically.

The game sounds just as good, if not better. Music gives each planet visited a unique feel. The sound effects are seriously insane! Kinda makes you wonder where in the world did these guys get the necessary sounds to make destruction feel like destruction. The voice acting, however, is the highlight of the game's sound arsenal. The actors simply put up a great performance. Each character never sounded bland or out of place in any way. Quark's moments in the game are especially hilarious and, as you all know, humour seems hard to get in the video game world.

While fun, funny, and enjoyable, the game retains a bit too much elements from Going Commando. Although the gameplay has yet to upset fans, improvements that are hardly even there limits Up Your Arsenal from complete perfection.
