A great start to a great series.
Ratchet and Clank does alot of things right that would have you playing for a while and watching certain levels in awe. I couldn't believe my eyes when i entered the metropolis level, the level design was amazing. The beginning of Spyro's new replacement started when this game came out (sadly, a little).
The gameplay is very solid with some very nice flowing replayability to have you playing the game over and over again. You can not only just buy weapons and destroy your enemies in alot of ways, but you can search out for gold bolts that can help you buy gold upgrades for your weapons, and you can try to figure out skill points that will unlock cool stuff.
The graphics are good, but i think could have been a little better. A few levels were very impressive, but some of the graphics seemed a little out dated, like the water effects, and the graphics could have been a little more detailed. But the graphics are still above edible and surpass many other games.
The music suits the game very well and the weapons and sound effects are well created and not ripped off of anywhere. But some of the music sounded a little repetitive at times.
Overall, this game is an awsome start to a series that is doing well, and every game after this became better and better. Platformer gamers have to get this game, as well as PS2 owners. Anyone else, should try it.
