This is a very good platformer, but not with a lot of replay value.

Well, what I meant by 'not with a lot of replay value' was that the weapons that you attain don't upgrade until your second playthrough which you can contain by entering a warp pad which leads you into a special room. You can only get the gold weapons and that's basically all you have.

Let's talk about the story - the story, I have to admit, to me, was better than the Jak and Daxter series. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying the Jak and Daxter series is bad at story-telling, it's great - it's just I'm more into sci-fi and the fact that I found Daxter sometimes annoying. It starts off with a lombax named Ratchet who is a mechanic fixing his ship. He cannot fly it because he does not have the robot that can activate the ship - something new to Gadgetron. Clank escapes a robotic factory, and crashes into Planet Veldon, which is where Ratchet lives. As you can expect, they team up. An evil villain named Chairman Drek wants to take over the planets. Meanwhile Ratchet and Clank explore planets to find Captain Qwark, who is a popular superhero.

The humour in this game is great. I thought that it made the game a bit more entertaining and makes people want to continue playing. So overall, the story is very good and in my opinion one of the best stories.

The gameplay is basically a platformer. I'm really not into platformers anymore (I used to be) because it's the same jumping-to-platform and collecting stuff. It's not a bad genre, just not one of my favourites. That's why the first game is not the best in the series for me, because the other two... I'll explain later. The controls, I have to admit, are great. They respond well and when fighting enemies, it's okay. But compared to the other two Ratchet and Clank games, the L2 and R2 button that moves Ratchet from left to right felt smoother.

The boss battles, by the way, are challenging. You get a variety of weapons; blasters, flamethrowers, bombs and one in particular called RYNO, which is my favourite. It packs so much power and it's really fun to use. As I said though, upgrading weapons does not take a lot of effort, but it's not bad, it's great.

The graphics look superb. The environments are pretty good because you can see further into the distance, and the character models look good, including Clank. The best part of the graphics is the water - it looks so fantastic. So the graphics gets a high score.

The music was very, very good. It fits the game's atmosphere, it's catchy and it even suits the characters when it's needed. The sound effects, like shooting, whacking with your wrench and picking up bolts to upgrade and buy stuff are also very good.

The replay value is one of the things that lowers the player's desire to play through the game over and over. Don't get me wrong - it's a great game. My opinion on that stands, but I have only played this game twice to finish it all while the others I'll play through more.

OVERALL: This is a game worth checking out and if you're new to the series and/or if you like platformers, you may want to buy this one.
