This phenomenal title hits all the right spots, it'll encapture your imagination well after you've beaten it.
The sound Rayman 2 provides has great effect to it, with deep rich sounds to make you jump on your toes. The music also follows a fairy tale like melody, and constantly provides changes in mood as story develops and new places are discovered; all the sound in Rayman 2 compliments the just as rich graphics. The only part people complain about are the Banjo Kazooie imitating voices that spit jargon as they talk. All the characters speak with a smoother flowing accent that is more pleasing to the ears, accept when you start noticing repeats in voice jargon as you stroll farther into Rayman 2.
Rayman's tricks and abilities will keep you enthralled in the game's deep game-play elements; the levels only help to bring out these elements by constantly having you explore high and low. If your up to the challenge to unlock Rayman 2's many secrets, you'll be in for a surprise, a multiplayer mode can be unlocked if you find the 5 crystals in the game. Over all, multiplayer is only fun for a short time, but I still couldn't believe what I had unlocked. As for getting extras for getting every single lum in the game (I feel it's my duty to worn everyone so they won't be pissed), you won't be rewarded with anything, but only the satisfaction of finding all 999 lums in the entire game (put it this way, if you thought Mario Sunshine was hard to get everything, Rayman 2 puts even that challenge to shame).
If you’re looking for one of the best platformers to date, don't overlook Rayman 2 based on the original, or even based on what Rayman 3 is like, because Rayman 2 offers what both those games will never be able to offer, perfect game-play.
