A fun party game that should give you atleast a few hours of fun.
The latest installment in the Rayman series begins with a picknick where Rayman and some little globox creatures are ready to chow down, when all of a sudden they are taken away, along with Rayman to a bunny arena to where he is to be held captive till who knows when. From here, what you are forced to do are some of the most bazarre and crazy minigames that even make Warioware players flinch. Unfortunatly, some of these mini games are to repetitive, and with the PS2 controller, things might feel alot more akward then they would on the Nintendo Wii. Gameplay wise, Rayman Raving Rabids usually doesn't fail to offer you simple mini games with instructions at the beginning, sort of like Mario Party, and from there you will be doing things like pulling worms out of a bunny's teeth, drawing pictures of food that will turn into real food for them to eat, shooting them with plungers with gameplay similar to House of The Dead, riding crazy looking animals while racing them, smacking them when they mess up while singing in a choir, dancing with them while they disturb you with strange body movements, and much..much more. This may all sound fine and dandy but with multiplayer lacking in some major areas, and the mini-games becoming too repetitive, you will just feel as though the game has more to offer than its giving you, but in the end this is all you get. The story mode is strangley short with an abrubt ending after collecting plungers to try and escape from Raymans room.
Rayman's room starts out dull and plain but as you progress through the story mode, his room quickly becomes full of snazz and funk along with his music collection and wardrobe. It's often comical to dress Rayman up to be a "Gangsta", or a funky dancer from the 70's, but it's basically just for look as the wardrobe has absoloutly no point whatsover. Multiplayer lacks in many ways because for one, it's just not that fun to play these mini games with a friend, and also not every mini game is two player enabled, strangley enough. Other than the lack of some good mulitplayer fun, and the repetitive feel to alot of the mini games and an overall dissapointing story mode, the game does offer up some fun that I reccomened anyone try out atleast once by renting this game.
