Alright. Rayman is a limb-less hero with helicopter hair. He is the weirdest little dude you will ever find in a videogame. Yet, when Ubisoft first introduced him, he was mostly looked upon as a little kid's idol. I was about 9 when I got this game and even then, I didn't like it. First off, the controls are fairly sluggish and the only thing that is alright about this game is the graphics are great. The storyline is pretty unoriginal. A villain named Mr. Dark, who hardly looks as imaginitive as Rayman, steals a very powerful object and the world falls into chaos and a hero stands up to get it back. Sounds a lot like many Nintendo games that came out in the 1980's. This game is odd, but not good odd as Rayman 2, but odd as in "What the hell is going on here?" Why does Rayman need to kill countless enemies and avoid constant hazards just to get the ability to RUN. The worlds you enter are either predictable or extremely childish. The gameplay is much too complicated for a child, yet the game is much too childish for a teenager. Rayman wasn't really directed at anybody but someone who just wants to add a bargained game to their collection. I only played about 2 levels before I become completely bored of the game and decided to buy Rayman 2. I don't even remember if I sold this game or I still have it. If I do still have it, I'd bet it's in my closet, under old classwork and toys.
Well I know the day and age of next gen consoles not many people worry about the old classics. But I was fumbling through my old assortment of games the other day and found Rayman. I forgot how this used to be my favorit... Read Full Review
