Simple, fun and cheap game for your Vita.

Another little gem in the Sony mobile section.

The game is pretty simple and that's what gives it its charm.

It's a single screen affair that would like at home on the Intellivision and I mean that in a good way.

You play a little pixel fellow who has escaped from his captors on an island. Your sole objective is to dodge being fired upon by your former captives. If the shots line up, your enemies will shoot themselves.

It plays like a combination a bullet hell game and a run for your life game. You're always on the move and there are bullets everywhere, especially when things heat up the longer you survive.

You move your character with the left or right sticks. You can acquire power ups and you activate them by touchscreen.

As you play you earn points (called your Stash) and with that you can unlock two extra game modes, five extra outfits and twelve power ups.

It won't take long to unlock everything available.

The fun of the game is seeing how long you can stay alive and what score you can get. The game keep tracks of your high score for each of the three game modes. There is no ability to keep track of what name got what high score though.

The power ups include armour, the ability to run faster, extra points, bullet time and decoys. I found myself just using three armour power ups, that way I didn't have to bother with the touch screen as your armour is with you when you start the game.

It would have been nice to be able to assign the powers up to the triggers or buttons as using the touchscreen when you're being attacked by a horde of enemies can disrupt your rhythm.

For two bucks, it's pretty darn fun and it ranks right up there with Super Crate Box as one of my favourite Sony mobile games on my Vita.
