"Shootouts, Cattle hurding, Drinking, oh my!"

User Rating: 9.5 | Red Dead Redemption PS3
"Well ain't that mighty queer!"...Is just one of many quotes that you sometimes have to stop and think about including, "You have a mighty fine stride sir." Red Dead Redemption is classic fun and gun, with many side missions, hunting and things to do. Along with great animation, sturdy gameplay, and the beauty of the open west is just some underated descriptions of Rockstars latest installement.

PROS: Character connection and voice overs are outstanding and spot on. Rockstars trademark conversation while riding to the next mission point is always a welcomed feature. The sheer amount of things to do, placs to visit, and wildlife is mesmorizing. From the horshoe marks in the ground, to the dynamic people and towns, the graphics and overall presentation of the mechanics are above and beyond any detail in most modern games. Eventhough the story isn't much like Red Dead Revolver, the new one is just as interesting and fun to follow. The attention to minute detail in fire stocking, and horse differences is mind boggling! The main mission range from cattle hurding, breaking a horse, to helping get rid of a gang hideout. Lastly, dragging someone around from a lasso off the back of your horse is one of the most brutal, yet satisfying way to waste some time getting to your next town. This game is one that you will want to take your time getting to your missions and side missions, as you will find animals to hunt, treasures to find, and ladies to save in the harsh western wilderness. Features games like poker (Texas hold em: eventhough it wasn't around during this time which im assuming is around 1905 or 1910), horshoe, liers dice, and many more. All this is worth the money, but I haven't even touched the multiplayer yet! The multiplayer and single player are two different games all on their own; although the setting and places are the same as campaign's New Austin state, the game lobby is New Austin! Features like upgrading with xp, joining posses, and even the amount of gamemodes is sure to keep the replayability value way up!

CONS: Minor glitches. Repetative side missions like rescuing people are abundant. Native American voice acting is a little...unbelievable. The game is a little easy; if you loot the bodies you will never need to buy ammo.

This game is well worth the money, and is sure to keep you playing a solid 20 hours if you just go through the main missions. However, you will find yourself occupied with gathering animal furs, meats, and claws, along with infiltating gang hideouts, and going for bounties. The multiplayer community is vast and exhilerating.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to find the legendary Mexican Jaguar and get drunk at the local saloon and cheat at a hand of cards!
