If you like games that are easy this is your game!
Story:
You are an ex-outlaw whose family is being held by the police/government. They want you to take out your former gang in exchange for your family. This takes you all over the wild west meeting several different people and giving you a good idea of how volatile the state of America is.
The Good:
The story/cut-scenes and voice acting are top notch like in all Rockstar's games. The land is huge and for the most part varied with many wild life roaming about. The cities are very lively and believable. Horse riding is easy and you won't find yourself walking to much unless you are in a city or fighting bad guys. There are plenty of side quests if your in to that kind of thing.
The Bad:
Auto-aim made this game a walk in the park, however if you choose not to use the aim feature the game becomes incredibly difficult due to the poor aiming system. Even though horses work well there is not much incentive to go out and get a new one once you have the best horse. You will most likely use the same one through the entire game. The missions are bland and unimaginative often taking no skill therefore leaving you with no feeling of accomplishment. There is no point to doing any of the side quests. You will never need to buy ammo and will always have enough for properties. You will find new guns gradually so you will end up having extra money by the end of the game. If you really want to do them you should leave them for when the game is done. The non-stranger side quests are pointless and often happen during actual missions disturbing the flow of game play if you choose to stop but why would you? You can only do bad things if your wearing a bandanna otherwise you risk losing fame or honor, but in the end it doesn't really matter as you will rarely need to buy anything.
The Average:
To me this game is very black and white. It has high production value but whoever designed the game-play made this thinking that the majority of us don't know how to use a controller.
Last Words:
To make this clear if the missions had been a bit more imaginative and the controls had been a bit less mindless this game could of been an easy 10. New comers to games like this will love it, however people like me who have played every GTA will find they have done this stuff a million times and would rather be stealing cars, shooting cops and having it out with hookers, but even that is wearing thin. This genre really needs something new and fresh to go with its high end stories and voice acting something to make me feel like I am challenged and not just dragging on until i find the end so i can put it back on the shelf. If I am not left wanting more by the end of the game something is wrong.
