Haven't played much single player, but multiplayer is great!

Red Dead Redemption is an awesome game. Like I said, I haven't played much single player. I'm not really into role-playing single player games. The main reason I got Red Dead is because of the online multiplayer. One of the best things about multiplayer is the free roam. You can form a posse with other players, attack gang hideouts, hunt animals from the helpless rabbit to the huge bear, or just simply pick some plants. There are many challenges to complete, such as the Master Hunter and Outlaw challenges, which keep you entertained and busy. As you level up and complete challenges, you unlock new titles, weapons, characters, challenges, and mounts, giving you a basic customization system for your character. If you ever start to get tired of free roam, then you can play some competitive matches such as grab the bag, gang matches, and my personal favorite, shootout.
I don't have many complaints about the multiplayer, besides the lack of interest in playing competitive matches, but obviously that is not at the fault of the game.
I'm sorry for those who were looking for some info on the single player, but if I even tried to describe it I would be lying, due to my lack of experience with it.
