Spectacular, amazing, emotional, insane, there just aren't enough words to describe how awesome this game is.
On your journey as John Marston, you go from the wild west in the U.S, to Mexico and eventually back to America. The missions are fun, the voice acting is amazing and the game world is breath taking. You'll see deer get killed by wolves or a bear get ganged up on and killed by other stray animals.
Wandering around the landscape can be dangerous too, and you'll come across a lot of people in need of your help. Rockstar likes to call these "random events" some of which are you helping somebody rescue their wife or brother or fend off from a attack on their carriage or stop somebody from being kidnapped by a insane rapist. I've come across these random events quite a bit, some of which can be quite funny to watch especially if you don't intervene.
I've seen a fight outside of the bar where a man beats down a women and the women cries for help and then gets stabbed and bleeds out. It can get extremely brutal but to see it in game is just really cool. The NPC's feel alive and not every second one looks the same, which is great considering the reputation most sandbox games have for it.
If you're bored of doing the main missions you can do some of the side missions which involve solving murder cases or stopping a man from cheating on his wife. You can also head over to a saloon and participate in a game of poker, black jack, liars dice and other games like arm wrestling. You can even take it to a competitive level and head online to compete in some basic game modes, along with free roam if you want to play around with a friend and explore together or do some co-op missions.
Overall Red Dead Redemption from start to fish is a really epic experience that anybody who likes sandbox games will enjoy.
