Reach for the sky varmint! Red Dead Redemption is all that and a bag chips (and I don't mean horse chips)

There is very little to say about Rockstar's latest project that hasn't already been said. Despite that I feel I needed to write a review for this game because these kinds of games come along so rarely.

Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic journey into a time long since past and pretty much forgotten by most people unless you grew up in the 50's watching the Lone ranger and the like. It's really a brilliant period piece in gaming.

You play the game as John Marston, a serious no nonsense type of guy that is on a mission. You can't help but like John right away despite his past he somehow is the beacon or order in the lawless old west.

Now on to the gameplay, the game shares a lot of elements with the GTA series so if you've played any of those games you should feel right at home. Everything controls very well especially the horseback riding (I think the six axis could have been incorporated a little) You take on various missions at your discretion to advance the plot, but if you're like me you'll never get from point A to point B without stopping a million times to go do some side task, and the game is loaded with them.

The is a beautiful site to look at and lets face if you're gonna be spending a lot of time in the game world it better be nice to look at. While it's not the best looking game out there it is the best looking sandbox game I've ever seen.

I am not a fan of multiplayer games at all. That being said MP is actually fun for this game. It's so cool to go to a free roam room and hook up with a few people and go take on gang hide outs or just wreak havoc in the game world.

If you are a fan of these types of games I highly suggest you go buy a copy of this game.
