While technically flawed in some areas, Red Dead Redemption is a satisfying game worth experiencing
-Massive Open World
-Excellent Story made better by great voice acting and characters
-Beautiful Graphics
-A whole lot of stuff to keep you busy
-Addicting free-roam multiplayer
-Westerns' are few and far between, and rarely this good
Bad:
-A few bugs here and there
Red Dead Redemption is fantastic. Plain and simple. It has been a long time since I've played a game with so much quality and substance throughout the whole play through.
The story begins with John Marston, a former outlaw who wants to escape his past life and live freely with his family. However, the Government uses him to find the former criminals he worked with and bring them to justice (or death). John's story is long, well written, memorable, and a blast to play.
Game mechanics work well for Red Dead. If you've played any Grand Theft Auto you'll instantly recognize and become used to the auto-aiming and button layout. As mentioned above the only significant problem to Red Dead are some glitches. Don't be surprised if you get stuck on a cliff horseback riding or get caught in a wall while jumping at least once. Otherwise the game play is solid, and works.
As a whole package Red Dead is easily worth $60. There is a LOT to keep you busy, and that's not even if you've touched the multiplayer.
What else is there to say? Go out and get Red Dead Redemption, in a year that's already full of incredible titles Red Dead Redemption is the top dog.
