If you are even considering playing this game, buy it. If not, well maybe this review will persuade you.
Story: In the game, you play as former outlaw John Marston, who is working for the government to get his family back. I don't want to give too much of the story away, so I will stop there. This is easily one of the best stories in any game. When you play the game, you feel like you are John Marston. The cut scenes are well done and they are quite a few side missions to complete. One thing I found really interesting were the references in the side missions to biblical things. The story has twists and turns, it's funny, and it never gets old.

Graphics: Amazing. Just amazing. It feels like you are in the wild west. There are gorgeous landscapes and realistic towns and people. The animations are good as well. The only probably I have here is that the frame rate drops once in awhile, but it's never that bad and doesn't happen to often. There are also a few glitches here or there, and the horse will sometimes go through what you are jumping over, but it doesn't take away from the experience. One minor detail that I feel like I have to mention is that the horses in this game look almost too good. You can see every muscle in their legs move and flex as they run.

Gameplay: Now for the important stuff. The gameplay. I will start with single player. The gameplay is really awesome, much like the rest of the game. Let's start with the gun fights. During the game you will find and buy many different weapons with different stats. The gun fights themselves are really cool and make you feel like you're in a western (especially the duels). The cover system messes up once in awhile, but it is also very realistic. If you're head is sticking up from a rock your hiding behind, you're gonna die. Horse riding plays a big part in weapons, since you can shoot while riding and drag people you have tied up behind you, which is a lot of fun. Like i mentioned before, you can buy weapons, but there are many other things to buy as well. Clothes, maps, horses, and much more can be found in stores across the map. Now for some of the unique features. Dead eye is really fun to use. If you don't know what it is, basically the game goes at about one frame per second and allows you to pick where you want to shoot. It's very fun to shoot the gun out of someones hand, shoot their hat off, and then watch them run away. Another cool thing is the bounty system. When you commit a crime, you may be able to outrun the police, but you will have a price on your head for awhile, so you will need to watch out for bounty hunters for awhile. You can always turn yourself in and pay it off or if you have a pardon letter you can clear your name. Last but not least, you can hunt just about every animal you see in the game. You can gruesomely skin these animals and sell their meat and fur to stores. This is a fun thing to do and a great way to earn money.
Now for multiplayer: In multiplayer, you create posses. While in a posse, you can fight other posses or do missions at gang hideouts. Doing these things is very enjoyable. Obviously, just doing this would get boring, but luckily there is a level system that goes all the way to 50. Ranking up unlocks new characters, horses, and weapons among other things. And that's about all there is too it. Trust me, it's a lot of fun.
Gameplay gets a 9.5/10
VERDICT: 10/10
