Red Dead Redemption was a game that at first I was a tad skeptical about. Cowboys and Indians was never really my thing growing up. I saw a week after it's release that the game had a near perfect score, and I had to check to see what all the rave was. The game literally blew my mind. The Story mode was the most satisfying adventure I have ever played as a single player gamer. The voice acting, plot, all of it was perfect. The game made me feel emotions of that of an interesting novel. One thing that really grinds my gears is when people say, "Oh a Grand Theft Auto game re-skinned during Cowboy times." That analysis is the most bogus statement I have ever heard. The game totally differentiates itself from the GTA series and makes itself in my opinion the best game Rock-star came out with. John Marston (protagonist) is a hero that makes you want to follow, and see what happens with him. Unlike the Niko Bellic type who claims "Oh I don't kill people anymore, but i'll go blow off some guys face so i can live the American Dream." What stayed with me about this game is that the story does not contradict itself once. Aside from the story the gunplay, and the horse mechanics is also another key element that puts this game at the top. In a nutshell Red Dead Redemption, for me, was the best game that released in 2010.
