A nice refreshing change of pace from other sandbox titles!

Red Dead Redemption, was all in all a decent game. The graphics where good, and the sound was alright not great but alright. It's a nice break from the same kind of sand box game play like Saints Row or Grand Theft Auto. The story is repeated many times over which does get old. There is so much you can do in this game. I found myself hunting more than anything, yes you can hunt in this game. You can use animal hides, meat, hearts, antlers, claws, or feathers for trade. The hunting gets a little addictive cause you kill one and you want to get more. The characters along the way are alright, they help you along the way, but there really is no connection to them. You actually feel like they are there just for your use, so there is no real feel for them. The story takes place in the year 1911, during the decline of the American Old West. The game follows one Mr. John Marston, a former outlaw, while he sets out to hunt down his former gang members. Marston's wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a bounty hunter. Having no other choice, he sets out to bring his three former gang members to justice. You have three districts to play in, Mexico seemed like a lot of down time, run here kill these people, run here kill those people. The side missions where fun as well, you can collect bounties of thieves, and murderers. If you collect them alive you get a lot more for them then if they are dead. Then there are random people who need help, or set ups. You think you are going to help some woman and bam someone is trying to rob you and it's you or them. Random camps to sit at and listen to people, random strangers calling you out, so it leads to a good ole fashion western duel. If you find a wild horse you like you can lasso it, and then break it in, and as long as you hitch it at a stable you can keep it. The ending of the game is simply amazing, John Marston is a bad ass and I can't say anymore. The down side is the very ending is a let down. It doesn't ruin the game but, it definitely is a huge set back. There is some much to do in the game, and as I said it really is a nice step away from other sand box titles. At first I was a little iffy about playing the game but an hour in and I was addicted. There are some little quirks here and there but not enough to make this a bad game. I spent a bit of time playing it as a hero, and I look forward to playing as a villain. So it's definitely worth the money and worth the play. There are things I can't talk about in this review only cause it can ruin the game play and story if I tell you about it. Check it out you won't be disappointing!
