This is one of my favorite shooters despite the fact that it's in third person
The graphics leave A LOT to be desired, but I think that was intentional and is supposed to add to the old western movie look and feel of the game. I didn't take many points off for this, but I do think they could have been a little better.
The "boss" fights in this game are very challenging. I had to play some of them 2-3 times before figuring out what the right strategy was. The rest of the stages are fairly easy, but they are fast and fun and made me feel like I was Clint Eastwood in an old western movie.
Being able to purchase and upgrade your weapons is a really cool idea. It's not something you might think you'd find in a "cowboy & western" game, but it works well.
One of my favorite features is the "Showdown" which delivers just what it says, a highly stressful, highly dangerous (for your character) experience. There's a "bullet-time" effect that makes these showdowns very fun and somewhat easy to master.
Overall Red Dead Revolver is one of my favorite games. If you're a fan of "cowboy" or "western" movies you have to check this one out.
