Red Faction Armageddon is some bloody fun when it comes to gameplay, but the story and objectives get repetitive fast...

I picked up Armageddon from Big Lots for $9.99. A great price for a moderately fun game.

From the beginning of the game, you can tell there is almost no plot at all. It's very generic and derivative. I mean, even RF Guerrilla's plot wasn't this terrible. Darius Mason (great name, right?) battles aliens underground while attempting to put an end to Quan-Chi's evil plans. That's it. Nothing memorable or special about it.

The gameplay is extremely fun when it comes to destroying buildings and shooting aliens. However, the objectives get tedious really quick. Also, the story goes on for so long that pretty soon you just want it end. Eventually you will be running through the whole level just so the game would end already.

Armageddon is also too easy. Darius is almost invincible and you almost don't even have to try. Killing enemies takes no skill and the tasks can get done with no trouble.

Despite it's many flaws, Armageddon manages to be a fairly decent game because of it's gameplay. If the game didn't have Geomod 2.0, I doubt I would have bought it. Red Faction: Armageddon is a huge step down from Guerilla, but it's still an alright game. I recommend you rent it or pick it up for a cheap price.
