Red Orchestra 41-45 - The most realistic Second World War Shooter/First-Person-Shooter I've always played!
This game is just awesome! It has many great features which other game's don't have and it's really realistic! Let me begin:
If you get hurt, you don't die! It depends where you get hit! If you get hit in your legs, that will slow you down for a couple of seconds! if your hand get's hit, you'll drop the weapon and you need to regret it! So by this you can already see a huge difference to the other 'mainstream' shooter games!
Another great feature is that hitting the enemy isn't as easy as it is in other games! You've have a lot of weapon recoil and being a sniper is even harder than in other games: The bullet actually needs to travel through the air - So make sure you point the cross a bit ahead of the enemy if he's running sideways! As well you can't just be a tank driver - You need to select it as a perk!
It's also amazing to see the bullets fly by or hit the floor or wall next to you! This brings you into a very realistic environment! To sum it up: Very realistic game for all those players out there who want to try out the real combat! DANGER: You may actually get scared in those huge buildings especially when someone pops up in front of you! :D
However some problem's I've had so far (not just me also most other players which are using Mac):
- Screen color is sometimes very bright!
- Cross in the sniper disappears/turns black when zooming in
- (In-game community on steam may not work)
- Achievements
However the game is defiantly worth playing, I don't regret buying this game, those minor problems may be fixed as the updates come for mac! I've also gotten a description on how to fix the achievements, dunno if it works (haven't tried yet) but if you want it, tell me and I'll post it! Also this game gave me the most realistic combat experience from all the shooter games I've played so far (including CoD)!!!
