A slight improvement to the series but seems a bit unfinished and short. Good use of the Wii Motion Plus though.
When the Wii Motion Plus was unveiled, Ubisoft immediately made the next Red Steel game with that accessory and they did at last. The swordplay works very well and it's a lot better than we thought it would be.
Red Steel 2 takes place in a fictious desert called Caldera, somewhere in Nevada and you play as a member of a clan known as the Kusagari, a Japanese group of Warriors. You battle out on various missions to earn money so you can get new weapon, upgrade your armour and also get medals. You get missions from a bunch of allies such as the Sheriff who definitely has an American accent and Tamiko, the only woman in this game who gives you other missions like destroying Com Towers etc.
During the game you will receive Sword training from the Dojo master and he'll train you some new moves and hidden strikes which are very powerful to perform. While fighting enemies there are tips given to you to show you how to finish off your opponents and they are very useful and very handy to take care of.
You can use either your Guns or your Sword while fighting enemies but also to cut and break things to get money and bullets for your guns but I normally use my Sword, but to do this because it's better that way to save your ammunition but if there are items you can't cut up, you can always use your Guns for that as well but save bullets as well while doing that.
Red Steel 2 is a big improvement to the series and the Wii Motion Plus does a good job with a much improved Sword Swing and the Graphics are all cell shaded this time round and the framerates are much smoother as well that simply does the effort well.
Well done Ubisoft.
