With Red Steel 2 coming up, I went back and played RS1. Ouch.

I really wanted to like this game. Sure I got it for 5 quid on Ebay, but I still wanted to enjoy it.
The story begins with, ah who gives a (insertcurseword) about the story, onto the gameplay! ( I'm not a very good reviewer )
On the back of the box it says, "The Weapon is in your Hand, Master it!"
Thats great and all but mastering it is harder than it seems.
It plays like you would expect a Wii shooter to play, only its no where near responsive and precise and such games as Metroid and Conduit.
Trying to aim and move at the same time is as easy as catching a chicken with a
marble and a bit of bellybutton fluff. I just can't do it. I end up getting killed in some unfair way and get frustrated, and turn it off.
Time spent playing to date: 10 hours or less, more like 1 hour or less. That may not be enough time to really review a game, but as I said, I am an awful reviewer.
( Kudos if your still reading this ). So, yeah, the shooting sucks, but thats not all the combat in the game.
At some points in the game, you will have to duel with, yup you guessed it, swords! While not bad, its not exactly good or fun. It responds well enough ( better than the bloody shooting, anyway ) and can get pretty fun to splice some guy, but I always wondered, why not take a leaf out of Indy's book and just shoot the guy?
All in all this game aint that great, I guess its worth £5 or $10 or 400Yen or whatever, but I'll wait for the RS2 reviews before getting my steel red again.
