The review title is self-explanatory as if you are into F-Zero, a lot of the same concepts apply here. You have to drive "very fast" while watching your vehicle damage around Redout 2's twisty and turny tracks. Controls wise it's a bit more complicated though, and not only does the left stick control your turning - but the right stick controls your pitch and strafe. And yes, it is necessary to use both to excel at Redout 2.
Graphically, the game is an absolute marvel and very colorful at that. The soundtrack in Redout 2 is simple but elegant, it's got some pretty cool beats.
In terms of gameplay modes, it's a bit skimpy to date but the modes that are there are solid. There is the arcade mode, which is similar to like a custom race mode, there is the career mode which pits you against various challenges and races against the CPU, and there is an online mode which I believe at the moment only is unranked, not really a big deal though.
Only thing that is probably a little disappointing to some people is this game doesn't have split-screen like the first one. Not really anything major as the overall package here compared to the first game feels richer. It's kind of like they took everything that was frustrating from the first game, out, streamlined the racing aspect a bit, got better music and ta-da... Redout 2.
Thanks for reading.
