The system allowing for switching between the two characters was genius & keeps this as one of my favorite RE games ever

User Rating: 8.8 | Resident Evil 0 GC
Resident Evil 0 is the 5th installment of the Resident Evil series (not including re-issues), but actually falls first in the story line. It helps to uncover much more of the Resident Evil story line, including S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team, why the T-Virus actually broke out in the Arklay Mountains around Raccoon City, and reveals further information concerning Umbrella Corporation.

Gameplay- 9- While holding the classic RE gameplay, the many new creatures puzzles, and some of the new features really helped to strengthen the already solid gameplay. Unlike in past games, where you only play as one character at a time, this game actually uses a switching system in which you go between the two main characters, Billy Coen ( an ex-Marine sentenced to death, whose overturned truck is discovered during the game) and Rebecca Chambers. This system is interesting, because you can leave one character in a seemingly empty area, only to hear a cry for help on the walkie-talkie to come back to a zombie, hunter, leech creature, etc.

Graphics- 10- This game is one of the best looking games on the Gamecube still. It doesn't match RE4's graphics, but it is barely below it in the quality of it.

Sound- 9- RE has always been known for haunting music & great effects and this one delivers. The music in the main hall with the giant painting of James Marcus still freaks me the hell out.

Value- 7- The game suffers in this department. While the Leech Hunt mini game is fun & multiple go-throughs are cool, some ppl may not care to play it more than once.

Tilt- 9- Just a great game all around
