Criminally underated, easy to get your hands on. Buy it please!
Take a young STAR's member, a criminal convicted of murder and a shedload of zombies and leeches, and you've got one the best GC games out there.
The control formula sticks to the original "tank track" controls (which proved a little bit clunkier than other games) but the "partner zapping" allows you switch characters on the fly by pressing X. This opened up a new variety of puzzles never seen by any other Resident Evil game.
Its also hard. Incredibly hard. Instead of an item box, you had to drop items if you wanted to pick up another one. Especially if a weapon like the bog- standard shotgun you were interested in didnt fit in your inventory, you may have to fork out TWO inventory spaces to hold it.
And then theres the fact that each character has their own abilities and weaknesses which you need to think over. Where STAR's member Rebecca can only mix herbs and is fairly weak in combat, ex-marine Billy is the strong one who doesn't really have the brains but can break through barracades quite easily with his muscules. Its this amount of thought you need to put in. Oh, and if one character dies, its game over so look after your partner too!
But that doesn't mean the game isn't fun. These changes really add to the chill factor by massive amounts and enemies constantly respawn... watch the ammo!
Overall, any Resi fan should love this, but casual or faint- hearted people should give it a miss.... because its very, very difficult.
