The greatest of the old generation Evil series
The graphics are a solid improvment on the first, as is the music. Voice acting is still a little dodgy but you'll be paying more attention to the story line. The weapons are superb and contain the ability to upgrade at certain points when the parts are found. The game was also the first to show a genuine different perpective while playing the second characters walk through (a switch from the first time you played). This means that you can see how they went about their mission.
The extra modes become available depending how fast and how well you complete the first mission. Mercenaries makes its first appearance and is probably the still the most difficult mercenaries to acomplete in a Resident evil game.
If you have a desire to own an older 32 bit version of Resident Evil than this is the one to go for on the Gamecube or the Dreamcast as the playstation's graphics are not as refined as this re-release
