A bit of a let down. ( some secrets spoiled )

Concept: After the resident evil crisis up in the arklay mountains ( see my resident evil or the remake review ) Chris and Jill told the Racoon City police department about their story but no one believed them. After Chris did some research on umbrella he found out about a more powerful G-virus and thought it was umbrella all over again. Him and Barry went to Europe to do more investigation on umbrella and Jill decided to stay in Racoon City a bit longer. But then it happened again. There were reports of a rapid skin disease spreading through out Racoon City. But it was the G-virus really. It snuck up on Racoon City like a plague and once again took the lives of innocent civilians. An RPD officer named Leon S Kennedy on his first duty just arrived back in town and on the other side of the city, Claire Redfield which is Chris's sister, enters Racoon City to look for her brother Chris. They both run into trouble shortly after being in the city and both meet up in an alley and then run into a police car and drive off. After talking a little bit, a zombie surprises Claire and Leon as the monster jumps out from the back seat. Leon then looses control of the car and crashes into a pole. After the zombie crashes out through the window they both spot a truck full of gasoline coming right toward them. They quickly escape the car but wreckage and a ball of fire know seperates Claire and Leon so they must meet up at the police station and thus the adventure begins.

Graphics: The biggest dissapointment because I was expecting a resident evil code veronica type graphics but this game doesn't even come close. The graphics are still okay though. It's better than the playstation version but only a few touch ups have been done to the graphics. Most of the graphics are the same as playstation version. The graphics on the enemies and characters have been a bit touched up a bit but that's it. In my opinion the graphics are still good though. The cg videos are most definentely superior to the playstations.( for more see my RE2 playstation review )

Sound: Resident Evil 2 has good sound overall. Almost an excellent sound if you put it by resident evil standards. You can hear almost everything in this game clearly. the guns sound like how they would sound in reality. When your outside, you can hear the screams of zombies in the background as zombies have overtaken the city. The monsters also make scary sounds and if your not used to games like this it will probebly scare you even now to this day. The sound is good overall though.) see my RE2 reviw for playstation for more info )

Replayability: The dreamcast version offers the best replayability. There is 3 mini games to unlock, 3 special weapons to unlock in the main game, and 2 extra difficulty settings to unlock. Also you can unlock all of the drawings and movies in the gallery of resident evil 2. If you like beating all the modes in a game youll be playing this game for years. This is another reason why the dreamcast version is the best version to buy.

Playability: The dreamcast version also offers the best playability as well. Your character still controls like a tank as usual in many resident evil games. Other than that the controls are pretty okay to me. The reason why the dreamcast version is best is because you can edit your controls. In other words you can choose which buttons go with which function and you don't have to choose between set up 1, set up 2 and so on.

Entertainment: The front box may look boring a little bit but the back of the box doesn't. The inside booklet doesn't niether unless you don't like reading. The menus of the game aren't boring at all either. Overall this game is considered a classic so you should be coming back to it every know and then. This is a good game but now I wouldn't suggest buying it right away. But I would suggest you either buy it or at least check it out because after all, even classics deserve some attention.
