You actually begin playing resident evil 2 by choosing which character you want to be. Each character will follow a different path. If you play as Leon, you end up going into some places of the game that the other character will not go. Now lets get down to some of the good things about the game. First good thing, this actually is a real survival horror. The first time you play this game you might get a liitle creeped out, but you should really stick with it, it will be worth your time. This game is actually a fun experience, but of course it does not compare with it's younger brother resident evil 4. The story is pretty good, probably a C+ on the grading scale. One thing that gets the story down some you have to find a lot of books and read them to understand a lot of the main story. The next good thing, I like the action , if you are looking for simple pure adreline rush action that is not complicated to figure out , then this is for you . Also, the sound in the game is really good it adds to the suspense of the game. BUT, along with the good always comes the bad, so here they are. If you own resident evil 4 the second one is not worth wasting your time,of course the graphics in no way compare. I Did not enjoy the puzzles when you had to take certain keys to certain rooms and you had to keep back tracking over and over again. Over all If you own RE4 and you are looking for a classic installment of the series this would be a good game for you, but do expect the graphics of today to be in that game, if you enjoy the older games and must ahave the whole collection , by all means get it.
