They can do it!

It's about time the team that put together RE2 got it right ever since RE4. I absolutely loved resident evil 2 for the PS1.. the fixed camera angle, the exploration, the puzzles, and the music! the series fell apart after RE4, and that game was awesome, innovative and nuts at the time.. Still is! what most people don't know is that the creator of resident evil, Shinji Mikami, left Capcom after he made re4. The call for 'action' gameplay in re4 was due to poor sales of the original remake for the gamecube. and that was a shame. Shinji Mikami would have made re4 just like the re2 remake is(google resident evil 3.5 hookman and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about!! look familiar?) the series went down the drain after he left, and finally they went back to the good old scrapped version of re4 and took notes.(check out The Evil Within games if you're into this kind of style, they were created recently to go back to the roots of old RE by Shinji Mikami for a lot of us that were jonsin for a good non FPS horror game) The new RE2 is an excellent modern version of the original, with some new and old scenery. I was nervous they weren't going to do the puzzles and backtracking/exploring any justice, but they did just that. my only hang up with this new version is what they did to Leon and Claires character models. Yikes! the dialogue between them is awful too, and their voice actors... ugh. every other voice actor in the game was excellent.. I guess if you're just stepping into this series for the first time, these things won't bother you. you won't remember Leon definitely NOT looking suspiciously feminine with a butt chin. other than that, I would have liked to see some more exploration of the underground garage part of the game. I'm not going to get into too many details about the game, since this is a remake of a classic, but if your nostalgia brings you back, you'll appreciate the work they put in to make a good resident evil game again.
