Capcom's third installment provides a new path-choosing ability, Epilogues for both new and classic characters, and more
Difference being that in the Playstation version you had to obtain the key to the Boutique through dedicated gameplay, while the Boutique is locked in this version with the clothes immediately available upon starting a new game.
You can also play The Mercenaries mini-game from the start, and through gameplay, unlock unlimited-ammo ver weapons (or, for $9999 unlimited ammunition for all) for use in the main game.
The Mercenaries mode allows you to play as your choice of the three mercenaries Jill meets throughout gameplay, each with their own inventory of weapons and medicinal items, trying to find their way to the first Save point you encounter in the main game before the 2 minute time limit expires, destroying hordes of enemies along the way to obtain valuable extra seconds.
Regardless of whether or not you actually reach your destination in the allocated time, you will still be rewarded with cash at the end for use in purchasing the various weapons (among them a Gatling Gun and Rocket Launcher) with no limit of ammunition.
The main game details Jill Valentine's adventure through Raccoon City, the timeframe ranging from before, to after Resident Evil 2.
The Nemesis is one of the scariest of the Resident Evil monsters, and, like Mr. X in the second Resident Evil, follows you around throughout the course of the game.
The most important, other than that it brings back characters from the first Resident Evil, thing about Resident Evil 3 is that it has multiple paths, you get a choice several times throughout the game that determine in many cases the next area you visit, making repeated playing extremely unique for the series in that there are entire environments that can only be seen with a specific choice.
Replay value consists of the curiousity to take the "other path" in the several circumstances in which you have an option between two choices, the several different clothes, and the promise of unlocking a new Epilogue, detailing what happened to the characters after-the-fact.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a fantastic game, made even better by the DreamCast updates, and I highly recommend this game in all its releases, preferably the most recent system you own obviously (I, personally, have played the Playstation and DreamCast versions only thus far, but it is also available on Nintendo GameCube, which I haven't had the economic capability to buy a copy for yet)
Blessed Be
