This game is one of the greatest ever.

Alright this game is really, really fun. Seriously like everyone should own this game. There is never a dull moment and it is always tense. In RE4 you play as Leon S. Kennedy and you are sent to a small, remote village to rescue the President' daughter, Ashley. Needless to say there are a few bumps in the road along the way, and some really freaky things happening. The gameplay is really something to see with the behind the shoulder camera and perfect controls. It really is tense to slowly move your gun for pinpoint accuracy as an enemy lifts his axe ready to kill you, and the little details are really nice. Ammo conservation is also a very integral part, with the system being generous at first, then becoming stingy and forcing you to make smart shots. Little details include being able to open a door slowly or kick it open, and shooting a torch wielding enemy in the arm to make him burn himself. Plus there are many, many times where you are so thrilled about trying to stay alive, like when you are waiting for an elevator while fighting off something you can't kill. The difficulty also is very challenging, but never to hard that you get angry, and the difficulty incline is perfect. It never ceases to be fun and even the puzzle elements don't get frustrating. This game also really shows off in the technical area. The visuals are breathtaking and you really feel immersed in the world, with the dark, gritty environment to the slimy tentacles that come out of enemy's heads. You really feel immersed when the graphics become near photo realistic. Definitely one of the best looking games for the PS2. The sound is also perfect with great gunsounds and a great music that does well at building extreme tension. RE4 also is just exploding with content, which makes it a definite buy. There are many extras, and you also just want to play the game again and again. RE4 is a definite buy and one of the greatest games ever with the thrilling gameplay and sublime controls.
