Resident Evil 4 is not only the best GameCube game ever it is the single greatest game we've played in years.

Graphics: 10/10 The graphics were absolutley breathtaking when Capcom first showed off the game a couple of years ago and they are just as good in the retail version. The character models are nicely detailed and the environments look phenomenal. The lighting is sensational and it does a good job of doing lightning. There is pretty much no frame-loss at all which is pretty impressive considering the number of enemies on screen at once. I counted at least 15 at one point. So overall the graphics are pretty sensational but my only complaint is that once I did see the villagers pop in out of seemingly nowhere. Sound: 10/10 No complaints here. The music soundtrack really pulls you into the experience and will freak you out time and time again. When you hear the enemies talking to each other and they know where you are but you have no idea their location you will be scared. If you are fluent you can actually see the enemies are speaking spanish that has been modified by a computer. It's pretty freaky and the english voice acting is very solid too. The sound is so good that it will continue to scare you but you will still know whats going on for the most part. Gameplay: 10/10 Sure Leon can't strafe and sure you can't move and shoot at the same time but both these elements really just add to the gameplay as opposed to taking away from it. These elements actually make the game so difficult and intense and overall just fun to play. The action elements are fun to play, you will really get the sense of desperation and excitement that will be apparent from the prologue all the way to the conclusion over 20 hours later. Which leads into another point Resident Evil 4 is a long game with some memorable foes and boss fights. The downfall of most shooters this long is that killing things can and will get repetitive. Resident Evil 4 dodges this blow by changing things up every so often. There are some vehicle driving segments that you need to take care of and constantly new foes and you need to figure out which weapons will work best in a given situation. Even the cutscenes are cool because you will often be required to press a button in a certain place to avoid certain death. The game is full of certain choices you must make such as which of 2 pistols you want outright power or faster reload time and maybe bigger capacity. The game is awesome and is worth every penny you will spend on it. Also I say about the collectors edition this is one of the nicest presented collectors edition ever and the game never drops in quality from the second the case is put in your hand. Overall: 10/10 I could go on for years about all the great things about Resident Evil 4 but to sum it all up this is one of the closest things to a perfect game I've played on the PlayStation 2, Xbox or GameCube and that says a lot about the quality of this game it isn't often that a game is this hyped and still turns out this well. If you have a GameCube and you don't own this game why not?
