Resident Evil 4 has been the prestige of the Resident Evil series for many years and has been that way since it's debut.

Of all the Resident Evil games in the series, RE4 is my favorite modern one. Unlike the other modern ones, such as RE5, REORC, or RE6, RE4 offers challenges throughout the entire game. The game keeps at the edge of your seat with the surprise button pushing pop-ups in the cutscenes that keeps you active in the game from start to finish. To this day, I will play that game, only because, to me, the game doesn't stop being fun. The reason I say that is because of all the different modes you can do and all the different costumes and weapons to choose from. Of course the classic Mercenary Mode is in the game and doesn't fail to amuse you with it's playable characters. There are also short stories where you can play as Ada Wong. In Separate Ways, you can play the game from Ada's perspective and shows how she basically paved the path for Leon, in terms of solving puzzles and acquiring keys. There is also another mode for Ada, which isn't really a storyline, rather than a mini-game. The game also lets you have different costumes to wear in that game, all of which are amusing and one of them being extremely helpful. If you give Ashely, one of the main protagonists, the knight costume, she becomes invincible, you won't have to worry about her dying....EVER! There are also many unlockables that game has, in terms of weapons. You can get infinite ammunition weapons from that creepy but very resourceful merchant fellow. WARNING: The infinite ammo guns cost $1,000,000, which is not so bad when you remember that you can sell jewelry to him and all other treasures that you find throughout the game. The merchant also sells you great weapons and lets you upgrade them to the point where you are unstoppable, which you will need when you face the "spawn of Satan" enemies. The storyline is very interesting with the president's daughter getting kidnapped, although you think, why did the president send only one guy to save his daughter instead of a whole army? Guess he has faith in Leon. You run into challenging foes and bosses that build up the suspense, difficulty and surprises the game has in stored. RE4's only issue, to many people and myself, are the FEW graphic problems that the game has. However, if you have read my other reviews, I said that graphics aren't everything in a game. Therefore, this is only a minor flaw. In conclusion, Resident Evil 4 was the Resident Evil franchise's crown jewel and could possibly hold that title forever.
