It's just as good as the gamecube version

User Rating: 9.7 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
I honestly think this is one of the best games ever made. It's around 30 hours long, a great story, and fantastic graphics! The gameplay is fantastic and there are so many different weapons and weapon upgrades to choose from. The gameplay is also very unique because istead of each button on the controller having one funtion, the X button serves as a "action button" which lets you do multiple things depending on the situation. For example: press X to climb a ladder, press X to kick a stunned enemy, press X to climb up a steep surface, or my personal favorite, press X to jump through a 2nd floor window (badass!). Most cutscenes in the game you can die in if you don't react quickly. For example in one cutscene a guy jumps at Leon (the main charactor) with a knife and at the bottom of the screen it says press R1 and L1 do dodge. It seems that the ps2 version is just as good if not better than the gamecube version because it has "Seperate Ways", which is a pretty cool bonus mission where you play as Ada Sera (the lady in the red dress). It's pretty interesting because it explains important things that wasn't explained in the gamecube version. I don't see how anybody would give this game a review of anything below 9.0. It's one of those games you can beat and still enjoy over and over again and It's one of the most well crafted games I've ever played. Game of the Year for sure!
