Greatest Resident Evil game by far.
User Rating: 9.6 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
Resident Evil 4 is a great technical achievement and the greatest Resident Evil game ever. Graphics look unbelievably good, the PS2 version looks just as good as the GC version. Maybe a little worse, but you're not going to see the difference if you're not comparing them side by side. The game plays well too, amazing gameplay. Sometimes in the cutscenes you have to press buttons to survive. For example if somebody is waving a knife at you in the cutscene you have to quickly press buttons as it appears on the screen. That's a very good idea and it works well. The story is also good, you play as Leon S. Kennedy, whom you might remember from Resident Evil 2. You're sent on a mission to rescue the president's daughter and the game goes on from there. There are no zombies in this game, there are these vicious villagers who are trying to kill you in all kinds of horrible ways. The atmosphere is just perfect for that kind of thing. You're in a nasty village from the start, and as the game progresses you move to other places. This game really does give you the feeling of you being in a really, really bad place. I wouldn't call this game a horror game anymore, it's more of an action game, and that really works well. The PS2 version also features some new exclusive content only available for that system. Awesome game, I highly recommend it if you're a PS2 or a GameCube owner. This game is also coming out for the PC and the Nintendo Wii later this year, so if you don't own PS2 or GC you could wait for the PC or the Wii versions to come out.
Resident Evil 5 is coming out to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 systems soon. I hope it's going to be better, or at least as good as this one.
