Quite possibly the best single player 3rd person action game I have ever played.

Resident Evil 4 is quite possibly the best single player 3rd person action game I have ever played. It’s totally different from the other Resident Evil games other than a few bits of the plot and weapons that are a tribute to the older games. In previous Resident Evil games the game play was a combination of puzzle and horror where you would cautiously creep around wary of being ambushed with little ammunition left. Resident Evil 4 changes this completely. Gone are the few zombies scattered here and there with little ammo to use on them, now the enemies come in plentiful numbers (as does the ammo) and the action is fast and frequent. The puzzles are much simpler and less frequent, and horror atmosphere is almost completely gone. However this is still an excellent game whether you are a fan of the series or never liked the previous games. The story + cut-scenes are great, the graphics are beautiful, the sound effects are good, the amount of un-lockable weapons and upgrades is amazing detailed, the maps are well designed and varied and the game play is 20-30 hours depending on your skill level and how much you stop to explore every bit of the map. Plenty of replay value thanks to the different weapons + upgrades (you can’t get them all in one play through), hidden treasure, different ways of beating bosses etc. Highly recommended.
