I like it when that narrater says at the beginning: RESIDENT EVIL.... FOUUUR, muhahaha now I feel home...
The story: Leon Scott Kennedy, a well known character, first introduced in RE2, the old reference, is now the bodyguard of the US presidents doughter. Unfortunately she was kidnapped before he could start his job, so... ... A rescue mission which brings our hero somewhere o europe, spain or whatever.
And here begins a new nightmare, not T-Virus this time but Las Plagas, changing villagers into robot like/zombie like enemys but still able to do sometricks!
The gameplay: yape that's it, those zombies ain't the same anymore. They are fast, they have weopons, they can call for support and they can talk and even think... more or less. Besides the nice push a "button at the right moment feature" and the first person shooting, this is the most inovation in this game
Graphics: a story for it's own: originaly ment for the gamecube, ths game was design to fit the GC hardware but still Capcom has done it again. They made a visual masterpiece for PS2. And the differences between both version a very hard to find.
There are some jaggies, sometimes the textures are lower then in the GC version but still high enough. It seems some shiny metal effects are gone but maybe it wasn't there anyway.
And on the other side, this engine offers: often the textures are filtered to avoid texture flickering, very detailed polygone models, great animations, awsome weopon design, different settings, like village, castle, military outpost and more and lots of great special effects.
The sound: quite good but the music could have been better, If remember RE2, and compare it with this one, the atmosphere in RE2 was deeper and shocked more.
About the difficulty: quite hard, could have been harder though and almost no riddles?!
Anfortunately I haven't spend that much time on this game as I expected, for example RE2, more then 6 years old, gave us 2 character with full completely different storyline plus each one equipped with extra characters... and now just one main story line and 1 side character and one small bonus character with a very small story...
