(Full 628 Word Review) Just as or even better than the Gamecube version. You need to check it out!
While some people say that the Gamecube version is better, it’s actually hard to decide unless you’ve played both version thoroughly. There isn’t much difference between the two, except that in the Gamecube version, the graphics are only a bit better. If you haven’t played the Gamecube version than that minor difference will not strike you as a big flaw. The extras in the PlayStation 2 version makes up for all of the flaws when compared to the Gamecube. Some of the extras is the Mercenaries mode, where there’s a time limit to kill as much “bad guys” as possible without dying. “Separate Ways” where you play as the mysterious women, Ada Wong. You might thought about what she’s doing while you play as Leon and now, with this feature, you know. There are different outfits and weapons to unlock throughout this lengthy game.
I shall break down the categories for you.
The gameplay in this game is fantastic. Although the controls could have been a lot better. If you play it for awhile your hands will adjust to it. So the controls isn’t something to be worried about. This game is just so fun to play. A lot of action and play time. The cinematic get to the point quickly so you don’t have to wait for hours (I’m over exaggerating).
The graphics may not be as good as the Gamecube’s version of Resident Evil 4, but it’s still gets full marks. The detail of almost anything is unbelievable. I actually thought that the graphics for the PS2 version would be bad but I was wrong. The graphics will not disappoint you.
The game supports Dolby Pro Logic II which makes the game that much scarier to play. The voice acting cast was a very good choice. The voice matches all of the characters very well. The lip syncing is very well done. And the over sound effects will send a chill down your spine when the one of your enemies starts a chainsaw. Although a little bit more sound would have made it a bit better then it is now.
The value of this game is very great. After you beat the main game once, you unlock multiple features to the game that will make you want to play it again, just to try out the new weapons or what ever you unlock. Overall this a great game that deserves another go around once you’ve beaten it.
I truly love this game. I’m having so much fun playing it. Every category looks great. There are a few flaws in this game, which give me no reason to give it a low tilt score.
My overall thought about this game
This a great game that cannot be missed for any reason. If you have an Xbox, too bad for you. You’re going to have to wait for Resident Evil 5 for the 360. If you have a PlayStation 2 or Gamecube then buy this game. If you already have Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube and you have a PlayStation 2, there isn’t a reason why you shouldn’t get both. It’s really that good.
