Why change the camera angle? It was perfect in the 1st place...

User Rating: 8.3 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
In previous Resident Evil series, there were so many criticism about the camera angles and yet so many gamers brought them? Why?..... simple..... because OF its camera angles!! (^.*)

You would play as Chris, Leon or Jill ... walking through Racoon city holding a pistol and you never no whats behind that corner. Thats what makes Resident Evil an awesome epic. And with its immersive storyline, gameplay, cut-scenes and sound ~ it honestly is the best survivial horror game series made.

When they first released screenshots of the game, I was surprised that they totally changed the camera angle. I didnt think it was necessary, however I guess its probably time to make a change ~ a right 1 hopefully.... however it didnt turn out to be....

Gameplay ~ I honestly believe that changing to its current aiming system means that you dont have the old resident evil feel nemore. Its like playing a 3rd person shoot-em up. Where's the survival horror may u ask? Ok I agree, sniping enemies heads and knocking them down by shooting there legs is fun, but this isnt wat resident evil is about. Also, wheres dat chilling feel when you play the game... none at all, its not scary anymore, theres no adrenaline rush or shocks, just farmers throwing axes at u. I hoesntly would prefer them to make this as a spin off to the resient evil series. However credit to Capcom. The game is solid as it is. Realistic gameplay and a nice combat system (frustating and tedious at times though). Well made storyline, weapons and boss fights.

Graphics ~ I was surprised wat the PS2 offered me. I thought its would be better than the Gamecube. However I was wrong, the Gamecube had a far smoother texture to the game. When I played RE4 for a long time of the PS2, I usually flood myself with tears because of its poor blurry contrast effect (nothing to do with the tv.) Gamecube graphics much better.

Sound ~ Nice feedback from guns and sound effects. But not the best soundtrack in the world. However character voices were done very well.

Value ~ Surprisingly long. The campaigne lasted me around 20hrs but after that there are also Ada's missions and other stuff which would last you around 5+ hrs or maybe longer. So overall, a 25+ hrs game

You wanna get this game because its Resident Evil. A very well made storyline that follows the previous Resident Evil series. Solid gameplay, graphics and sound which would last you a fair amount. However, it doesnt give u that Resident Evil feel in which previous titles from the series did. Nice try with the camera ~ but for a Resident Evil game ~ this doesnt quite work. Lets go back to the usual, shall we, Capcom?
