good but annoying

User Rating: 9.5 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
Resident Evil 4 is the evolution of the Resident Evil series however it is unlike anything you've played so ignore everything you know about the earlier installments because this game is totally different.

The graphics in this game is out of this world. Beautifully rendered and detailed environments and characters. Everything from the in game shadows to the ripples in the water was done with great details. From forests to labs, from villages to castles to caves everything looks exceptionally superb. The game is also very violent and the game's superb graphics really makes it look realistic and gory. However it is to be noted that the Game Cube's version of Resident Evil 4 does look better than its Playstation 2 counterpart.

The sound was well done. Each weapon has its own unique sound. The music changes with enemies in the area alerting you when you are noticed by them. At some points the in game music can be very frightening and give you a sudden chill. You never know what's around the corner. Enemies also have their own unique voices. Some may laugh and others shout and some alert others by shouting words in their own language. The music for the boss battles would keep you on the edge of your seats, pounding on your heart, putting you right into the action.

Resident Evil 'tank' controls are gone. The game controls like a standard shooter. However you cannot move once you aim your weapon, the camera angle shifts to behind Leon's back, allowing you to manually aim at enemies, and hit them in key hit spots. For example if you shoot an enemy in the knee or lower foot, he may fall, allowing you time to reload your weapon or step back.

It's really hard to find faults for a perfect game.

Unlike all other Resident Evil games you will replay this game more than once because it's just so much fun, plus you may want to try out other weapons. The length of this game is longer than ALL the other Resident Evils. Your first play through might take you about 20 hours & take my word for it, you WILL replay this game. So get it now if you don't have it!
