Resident Evil at its best!!

User Rating: 10 | Resident Evil 4 PS2
This is one of my favourite Ps2 games of all time. Resident Evil 4 went away from that suspense camera angle, and limited ammo and really the survival horror side of things. If i were to go on that it kind of sounds like it isn't really a Resident Evil game at all, but..... with the new modified type of gameplay Resident Evil became a benchmark for games on the Ps2.

Lets start from the beginning... Leon Scott Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 is back again,6 years after Raccoon City and the outbreak in the Arklay Mountains, this time working for the F.B.I. His first mission is to try and locate the President's daughter Ashley who has gone missing and was last spotted in the rural part of Europe. Leon stops off at a quiet village to try and gather information on the whereabouts of Ashley. Everything goes wrong from there... As the story unravels you slowly learn where Ashley is and what the hell is going on in this small, disturbed village and the areas around it. To help you through the game you pick up and buy new weapons to fight off the deadly hordes of enemies which are no longer zombies... but something else. Many of characters from the old games are back too e.g. Ada, Wesker.

And if that's not enough, once you have completed the game loads of extras are unlocked. Like Separate Ways where you play the slightly shorter, and different version of the game through the eyes of Ada Wong which also explains why certain things happened when you played as Leon before. Also another great thing that you unlock is Mercenaries which is a rather arcade style version of the proper game where you shoot enemies galore to get points. You pick out of 5 characters to be with a range of different weapons each and 5 different places to slaughter things in.

Resident Evil 4 has a lot of replay value because there are new weapons to be unlocked when you complete the game again in a different outfit or you could just test how good you have become by changing the difficulty setting. You will love this game if you are a fan of Resident Evil like myself or just into Ps2 because the is one of the best possible games to get for it even though admittedly the graphics are slightly better on the Gamecube but nonetheless this is a must have game.
