I grew up with Resident Evil so when I found out that Resident Evil 4 was going to involve a rural village with no zombies..I must say I was disappointed I thought that Capcom had just let the series go. When it came out I rented it from my local Blockbuster and instantly within the first 5 minutes of playing, I was dead wrong. You play as Leon Scott Kennedy who now works for a special agency under direct control of the president. The president's daughter is abducted and taken to a rural part of Europe where an ancient parasite called the Las Plagas has taken over the minds of the villagers who now attack anybody they see with brutal force. The action is top notch and very adrenaline pumping with plenty of weapons to aid you ranging from the regular handgun to magnums to even a Mine-Thrower. Instead of the camera being fixed with pre-rendered backgrounds like the other games in the series, RE4 puts the camera behind Leon's shoulder where it always stays (except for certain action moments). The villagers are much smarter then zombies though. They will attack in groups from all possible directions with axes, pitchforks, scythes, flaming crossbows and even RPGs. Overall, I do miss the undead and atmosphere of Raccoon City but since the city was destroyed in RE3 I guess this was the next step that had be taken.
