I've always wanted to play the Resident Evil games. I remember watching my cousin play the very first one in the good ol' days on his Playstation One. I love love love the movies and anything that has to do with zombies. Naturally I would be interested in the premiere zombie series that my beloved movies were based off of. So when I bought my GameCube I also picked up Resident Evil. I played it for a bit and thought it is pretty fun, but I never finished it. That's been my only experience with the series up until a couple of weeks ago when I purchased a used copy of Resident Evil 4. It was only $15 and I'd heard very good things about it, so I figured what's the harm. Almost immediately I'd noticed changes about everything I didn't like in the other game and a few completely new ideas that really brought a lot to the game.

The first feature i noticed was the ability to organize the attache case. Not only does this allow you to maneuver items to save space, but for a person with self-diagnosed ocd like myself it just feels good to have that ability.

In this game some enemies, most in fact, drop items. This feature is both helpful and fun. As in any Resident Evil game you need ammo and the enemies are where you'll get a majority of it. This also helps to ease the stain of ammo conservation in previous titles in the series. Some may feel that this may lessen the emphasis on strategy in the game, but I feel it makes you want to use your weapons more than your knife. In a zombie game, blowing brains out is quite a bit more fun than slicing and dicing.

There is also a merchant in this game where you can sell useless items, buy new ones and even upgrade your weapons. The merchant adds a lot to the game.

These features really improve the game and make it a lot more fun, but still provide challenges and push you to keep progressing. All in all this is one of the best games I've played in quite sometime and I can guarantee that you'll be playing hours on end.
