Resident evil 4 is not just about blowing somebody's head off , No there's alot more to it than that.
The story takes place six years after the incident at umbrella corp. I'm not gonna mention anything more than that. There is alot of plot twists oh yea, believe me when i say that. Alot of times you think the mission is almost over but then no... something happens and Leon is forced to do alot more that what he was suppose to do.
Gameplay - 10
The only real downside to this is that you have to get used to the controls in order to enjoy resident evil 4, It might seem a little confusing at first bvut after the first 30 minutes i guarantee that you' ll probably pick up on it really easily. This is the main thing that makes this game so good is the gameplay. There are alot of weapons in this game. Handguns, Revolver (heavy duty magnum), Rifles, semi-automatic rifles, Submachine guns, Shotguns( my favorite), Rocket launchers, and yea. all of them have different attributes. Some are faster but weaker some maybe stronger but slower, and some may carry alot of bullets and have a really high fire-rate , it may not be that powerful. They all have different purposes. The new percision aiming is really fun and addicting to use. Basically every gun uses a laser pointer to aim. You can shoot an enemy in his/her head, arm, knee, or what so ever and they will react to it realistically, so lets say you are facing a guy with a helmet on, you might not be able to get a headshot so if you shoot him in his knees he'll drop to his knees and if you are close enough to him, leon will have an option of doing a suplex manuever . It all depends on what kind of enemy you are facing. Cutscenes are also very important in this game, you might think your just watching an in-game movie but think again because you'll have to participate in the story alot of times, but its really not that hard you just press whichever button comination is flashing in your screen but they will either be square and x or tge L1 and R1 button. ur you might have to mash Down and x or Down and Sqaure. Its kind of like a "god of war" gimmick.
Graphics - 10
One of the best Looking PS2 games ever, Even though it is suppose to be a "watered down " version of the gamecube version . The different environments are really fun to explore. This can range from a village, to underground tunnels, to unddergrond sewers, to laboratories, to castles, to mansions , to military bases. I actually think its part of the reason why Resident Evil 4 was so fun, because of the different environments but mainly the gameplay.
Sound - 10
Everything from gunshots, to the sound of water coming out of a broken pipe, to the weird and scary noises that your enemies make, to explosions, and Leon's footsteps ,everything was so well done.
Value - 9
it took me about 17 hours and 12 minutes to beat this game, that was actually faster tjhan the average time which is 20 to 25 hours so i am really proud of that. Plus the replay value is really really high because you can never be bored of blowing people's heads off even if you see it almost every time you shoot an enemy in the head, it never loses its impact.
Overall - 9
I would give it a ten but I think people would think of me as a fanboy or whatever, but yes Now i know why htis game won Game of the year.
Everything was really good, I just Wish it had the Detail that Metal Gear Solid 3 did in its environments.
