Fun, but lacking.

User Rating: 6 | Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition PC

I've played Resdient Evil 0-5, Survivor, Code Veronica, and Village (RE8). This title was fun, but definately one of the weaker entries. The story is entertaining and quite cathartic, if you know the lore. However Chris' partner Sheva, seems to lack chemistry with the main character. The graphics and sound are excellent. Certainly a highpoint in the franchise. The gameplay can seem a bit clumsy at times, especially in regards to co-op, but can be quite fun once you get used to it. Where the game faulters is in the lack of scares and challenge compared to other RE titles. Funny how one of the best of the series came right before it. This one favours action over horror. And although I had fun overall, it was a bit of a cakewalk. Enemies, even bosses, barely offered any challenge at all. Resident Evil 5 was a fun little distraction, but kind of reminded me of The Force Unleashed 2; Pretty to look at, but not much else.
